After retaining his points lead, Alexander Rossi took advantage of this 2 week break when he got invited to Hockenheim in the Formula BMW support series by Eurointernational owner Antonio Ferrari who also has a team in the United States.

During practice, Rossi was the fastest of the bunch. At qualifying, his result netted him a 9th and 6th starting positions. And Rossi was flying with the front runners until he enered the hairpin on the last lap colliding with FBMW regular Ramond Pineiro.
He wound up 22nd in the race. For race 2 as a result of avoidable contact, he was penalized 10 grid spots. In the end, Rossi salvages a top 10 with a 10th place
finish.

This is just more that an invitation - this will be a prelude to the 2008 BMW World Final at Valencia.

Both Rossi and fellow countryman and Formula BMW Pacific driver Sean McDonagh will be
huge underdogs for the final with the Europe favorites such as Esteban Gutierrez (Mexico), Adrian Tambay (France), Marco, Wittmann (Germany), and Bruno Juncadella(Spain).
