Townsend Bell to replace AJ Foyt IV. Possible headline later this year? I think at this point in time Bell is more qualified and should've gotten a ride this year. But who knows, maybe IV will be the surprise of 2007.

Champ Fan, he is lucky to be alive. I remember the crash, and I believe both legs were mangled, lots of internal injuries, he was in a coma for a while....in short, if he comes back to racing, he is truly tempting fate.....

Boat? Are you sure you are not think of Dismore or Hamilton? I don't recall Boat being that injured. His last IndyCar race was the 2003 500. I remeber his being tossed across the track Pole day morning, but he did race.

PS I am 80% sure Boat ran the Chili Bowl this year...

Pretty sure you're thinking of Davey Hamilton's crash in 2001.

Even then, Davey never was in a coma or had internal injuries. I think this is more what Mark wants to remember about the IRL. Tell me Mark, were there any injuries in the 2002 Surfers smashup?

I think you should give Mark some negative rep!
