Would explain why he's not been at any IRL events (apart from the obvious). Sad to hear such news about someone so obviously in love with racing.

very sad news.

the story has been circulating for a month or two now, I was reading else where a few weeks ago how Newman wanted this kept quiet but a fellow patient at the clinic he's being treated at spotted him and notified the press.

Kind of weird, just watched Butch and Sundance last night. I just hope that it goes as well as it can. For someone who has supported so many causes, much less who loves racing....damn.

NOTHING in that article confirms he has lung cancer or any other form of cancer. He may have cancer, but I don't see how ANY of you can pull it out of that article. Unless, of course, they changed the definition of speculation & didn't tell me.
