    live albums

Just want to share. Been listening to 'Live at Atlanta International' by Allman Brothers Band and it's mindblowing stuff. Raw power of rock'n'roll, bluesy feel and amazing jazz inspired jamming. If somebody could play the same old blues rock harmonies in a fresh way, it's these guys. But my overall point is that it's live shows that often set musicians' feelings and thinking free and help them make really brilliant music as opposed to overproduced studio albums.

I also like Deep Purple live albums: 'Made in Japan', 'Live at Olympia' and a bootleg of their show in my hometown.

Do you folks often listen to live albums? What albums do you like?

    Cool I love "live" albums...

    Here's a few in my collection :

Carlos Santana "Lotus" live in Tokyo (was just listening this morning) mokin:
Eric Clapton "Crossroads" 4 CD-Box (probably the best in my collection)
    Genesis "Second Out"
    Dire Straits "Alchemy"
    Focus "Live at the Rainbow"
    Jethro Tull "Bursting Out"
    Supertramp "Paris"
    Pink Floyd "Pulse"
    CSN&Y "4 Way Street"

And I could continue for days... :
When you're tired of rallying...you're tired of life

Muse - H.A.A.R.P (comes with a DVD too which is awesome)

I've got a John Lee Hooker live at Newport album and a Counting Crows album too but not really that brilliant. Much prefer to have a studio album with the odd live track most of the time but don't really know why.
You're so beige, you probably think this signature is about someone else.

The other day I was playing Rammstein - Live aus Berlin in my car and couldn't hear anything properly...the mixing is the problem with live stuff sometimes...

The Who - Live at the Isle of Wight Festival

It's a very raw recording, not all touched up and pansied about like live at leeds.

    Megadeth - Live at Wembley

Another great recording, great show, great setlist, great everything.

    Genesis - Live at Wembley

    Another wembley classic, bloody brilliant.

I like heavy metal live records, too. Sometimes musicians play it much heavier and more powerful than in studio. 'If You Want Blood You Got It' by AC/DC and 'Live Priest' by Judas Priest are the examples.
