Maybe.
That would clash with an F1 budget.
I really don't see the Regie having two competitive teams in different disciplines.
One option would be to ditch F1 and join WRC, but at the moment that would be a poor choice.
Renault should wait until people outside of the hardcore circle know that the WRC exists.Marco Simoncelli 1987-2011

Last time I've heard that also Mitsubishi, Skoda, Volkswagen, Hyundai, FIAT, MG, Peugeot, Toyota, Nissan, Kia and also Lada were looking to come (or come back) to WRC within a couple of years ^^

There was an article on "Motorsport news" newspaper abouit that possibility. IRC in 2009 and WRC in 2010 with the new 3 doors Megane. Maybe the ones from UK could see that.

At the moment, I don't see Renault joining as a works team at the top level. However they may be interested in developing S2000.

It said in the motorsport news report that there wasn't a clash between a wrc team and the f1 team - let's face it, even the top wrc manufacturers budget is nothing compared to F1...
Like almost everyone, they are waiting ont he technical specifications for the next few years before commiting themselves to it I think. If the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off!

Abarth are also rumoured to return, see my thread..

You're a 100% right. FIA should rattle the manufacturer's cage. Take the compromise or go. Rally 1s are dead in the water. If manufacturers don't agree, make Rally 2s as they are now the top category...
