MICHELE MOUTON would you believe it!

MICHELE MOUTON has provisionally accepted an invitation from Slowly Sideways to join them on the Rally Stage at the Race Retro Show on 24th and 25th March.

Two other invitees who have confirmed are BJORN WALDEGARD and RUSSELL BROOKES.

This is a fabulous opportunity for all rally enthusiasts to see Michele back in quattro she will be driving a S1 and S1E2.

SSGB will be fielding 40 of their top cars including 27 Works Group B cars. (yes 27!)

I think you will agree that this is ONE NOT TO MISS !!!

Do you know yet which day(s) Bjorn will be there? I have some very old photos of his early days I really must try and get signed. (I also hold the dubious distinction of being the last name on the finishers list of an event where his name is at the opposite end!)

Bjorn was great value in the Fiat 131 last year chasing the snappers over the grass. Is the stage going to be in the same part of the showground as last year?

Chris - Yes we have a bit of a problem running it elsewhere as noise tests taken when we have tried to modify the stage have worried those concerned about noise pollution in the local village.

Went Saturday. Weather could have been better didnt really notice the show had been moved back a month it was still freezing! Great variety of cars and some differing levels of driving ability on display on the stage. One of the Beams departed with broken steering after hitting a curb. Sadly the first run was curtailed after someone in the grandstand was taken ill and the only ambulance on site had to take them to hospital, hope it wasn't too serious. Second run of the Grp cars was much better with Stig in the "Pikes Peak" Quattro who seemed a gear up on Michelle on most of the corners and Gary Midwinter's Sport Quattro creating a superb noise. Really loved the 037 in Olio Fiat colours even though it was driven very steadily. Sad for the guys in the two Maxi R5 Turbos who as in previous years spluttered around and at one point konked out! Crowd started to thin away mid way thru the run as it was getting really cold but from my perspective this display is the main reason to go to Stoneleigh. As for the show better than last year for me but can understand why some people appear to be charging high prices when a basic shell/stand costs over a grand!

By the way did the Marlboro and Belga RS200s run on Sunday or were they just statics like the two 205 T16s and the Delta S4?

Think both RS200's ran on the second run on sunday. Neither 205's ran on Sunday and I didnt see the Delta S4 either.

Went on the Sunday and had a great day the weather improved slightly for the sunday I think and the cars were driven faster (IMO) this year than they were last year. Seeing and hearing Michele in the little Audi was amazing! She hasnt lost her touch one bit! Managed to get some good pics of the Manta, Escort and Chevette nice and sideways. Will definitely be back next year (even though I only live 5 minutes down the road) and look forward to seeing Slowly Sideways once again

    Went Saturday, love these cars.

Does anybody know who the two 205's belong to? I had not seen either of them before in the UK. The Evo 2 was KK's Greece & NZ winning car from 86.
I hope they can come back and run at Rallyday later in the year.

One of them (reg no 205 T16 or T16 205 or something like that) belongs to Kev Furber and is looked after by Prospeed Motorsport I think, i remember seeing Prospeed stickers on it anyway

Yes thats right. The E2 is Kev Fuber's, it's the ex Jon Woodner car from the USA. Not seen the E1 that was there before as had Kalle Grundel's name on the door.
