Good set of pictures here for those with Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Pickrally/p...09777622590817
The more you look at it the more you see the small but significant evolutions.
It's wider I think. Certainly if you follow the line back from the front arches it is wider and much more defined along the driver door. That will be where the impact absorbing foam goes. There was quite a big story about this in Motorsport News. Work has been done to help with side impacts.RS Motorsport Media - Follow me on Instagram: rsmotorsportmedia

Here's 1995 WRC champion Colin McRae testing the 555 Subaru Imprezza in 1995. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SROTaMSDVXY
Why post it here today ?
Because today is the anniversary of Colin's death and we have just reached page 555 of the WRC testing thread. (default display 10 messages per page)

Yep, those doors and side panels are different; still the car overall width must be the same. Besides the new wing and the new bumpers, there’s also a redesigned bonnet, suggesting a different intercooler mounting.
With all these changes and so few news about the next Polo generation release, will the 2017 WRC car still be based on the current Mk5 model?Rally addict since 1982

A big emphasis was made by the FIA/Promoter when these new regs were announced about the fact that if you painted all the current cars white, the man in the street wouldn't be able to recognise one from the other.
I have to admit it's not something that particularly bothers me. I've made peace with the fact we're not going to get the variation in segments we used to have - but in 2017 with the design trends we've seen, to me they are still going to all look pretty similar to the man in the street.RS Motorsport Media - Follow me on Instagram: rsmotorsportmedia
