I have missed it so if anyone knows.. were there other updates besides the front aero? Was the engine update already in use in Monte?

I have to defend dimwii here as I would almost take it as a complement towards M-sport and not as an insult.. They are the only ones in the WRC who actually needs the WRC and therefore the most...

I remembered reading this somewhere.. basically a bigger engine modification is still to come if this article is correct, Monte was just a small upgrade.

Ogier used Sachs from Finland until the end of the season on all gravel events and Reiger on tarmac, the funny thing is there were rumours Citroen tested on Reiger with Ogier in their pre Monte tests...

My thoughts exactly, from my understanding it was VW motorsport who mainly used(still uses in WRX) Sachs as a parts supplier and did the majority of development etc. in house.

Fully agreed with the rear wing, it has tough competition in ugliness from the Mitsubishi Lancer WRC 05 though (or in Lancers case mostly the placing was odd)

Besides these also weight reduction and slight center of gravity advantages can be obtained by custom blocks

I think the Fiesta also started with stock block, only later they made a race specific block

I`m not 100% sure about WRC but at least R5 than inside of dampers is completely free, basically only damper body is homolagated. And since the teams do so much suspension testing the shim setting...

M-sport can be compared only to Hyundai(and VW 2016) as they are the only ones with same test regulations. Toyota and Citroen could test as much as they wanted last season.

It`s been suggested before here in these forums but no way will M-sport partner with Dmack at least not for the official WRC campaign, if they change from Michelin the only other option is Pirelli

Yes same things I`ve heard, something is happening as Nasser skipped his own Dakar team which has been under full construction uptil now with their own buggy, now he`s lined up as customer for BMW...

Maybe it´s not all bad, if I remember correctly the deal between Ford and M-sport was such that 50% of every sold car went back to Ford. Ford not being involved should mean M-sport keeps the hole...
