I'm not a technician in this respect, but isn't an active center diff supposed to give You optimum performance in various corners (in some degree). There used to be fixed ratio diffs already in 90's...

I think he was just too fast there, the car didn't turn. But in theory, yes, the low pressure area beneath the car is weaker with bigger ride height.
