I'm pretty sure many teams use magnesium rims. At least many R5 teams use them. They are not super light as anyway there is minimum weight, but they are much stronger than alu.

It's all about money. If you have enough you can have best people, almost best/latest parts from factory and some own developed stuff (i.e. dampers), a lot of tests, etc. But the level of money...

If there is a problem in the dampers it's because of decision of Citroen engineers decisions.

You can clearly see on MSport base R5 to R5 Evo comparision chart which Mirek upload that torque difference between 4500rpm and 6000rpm is some 100Nm... so it's not flat...

reality is torque at 6500rpms in R5 is close to 300Nm, not to 400Nm...

With restrictor those graphs look much different, like Mirek wrote - torque is falling down rapidly after it's peak

Nice with new cars with bigger restrictor is that drivers are able to rev them higher, which makes sound nicer, etc.
Toyota has little bit different ALS sound.
