I still don't see the problem with DiRT 2, to this day, unless you want rally and ONLY rally racing. It's an entertaining game and I still play it from time to time.

I've got Win7 pro...I haven't tried the virtual PC option because as far as I'm aware VPC from MS doesn't include 3D support...so most games are a no-go.

VMWare Workstation is similar software but...

Snow rallies are fun, and this one was no different even though my times most likely suffered as a result of my aggressive driving.

Still, it makes for good photos.

My style is a bit too aggressive to be consistent in the snow, so my times suffered a bit I think...but, not much I can do about that. Well I could slow down but meh :P

Last time I ran with you guys I got smoked by nearly everyone...I guess watching those CMR2 videos on youtube helped after all. :D

I did the same thing. I don't have a lot of experience with CMR2 so the slippery surfaces like snow/dirt/gravel give me fits. I still have problems beating the AI on expert level. :mad:

Well, I completed all my stages today. Managed to shake the rust off, not that I was ever very fast to begin with...but, it felt good. Doubt I'll come close to the stage times of the heavy-hitters...

I looked into XP mode but saw that it utilizes MS Virtual PC...which to my knowledge really doesn't have much in the way of 3D graphics support.

VMware supports Direct3D, but it's also not...

Still no luck getting CMR2 to work in Win7. I can get a car on the start of a stage, but the performance is terribly slow and there are massive graphics artifacts on the screen.
