It wasn't a digger, it was a forklift truck, driving with the forks raised! If David had crashed into it those forks they would've gone straight through the car, and probably its occupants.

Thank you for this - a great video! It really shows that lack of snow in Sweden is not a recent thing, in places this looks more like Finland.
