It's been a long time, but the best rally promotor i have ever seen is eurosport back in the IRC days.

i follow f1, wrc and the belgian rally championship. and a bit of erc, dakar, lemans and rallycross.

Rally drivers spend a lot more time together. In f1 they are with their own team all day, and only meet at the track or during driver meetings.
