that's a good way to put it, they're doing radio commentary on a TV broadcast; unsurprisingly it quickly wears thin on the audience, especially when said audience is mainly composed of enthusiasts

There is a good way and a bad way to do it. The bad way we know already (eg. Becs + PK). The good way is the 2nd commentator is a technical commentators who takes time to think and give insight....
