It's a correvit sensor, it usually measures distance and speed, but can be used for other things as well.

Yes, they still use it. They also decided to use a similar solution on the C3 R5.

VW and Skoda works teams have used the correvit sensor on pretty much their every test, so I don't think that is an indication of a problem with the car, just other teams are starting to use more...

I think the Toyota is not that bad. One thing I noticed though (and this can be the drivers, the car setup or my eyes :D) is that the Yaris looks unsure over the crests and sudden direction changes...

Hm, looks like they also went down the VW/Skoda route regarding the rear damper position. Now I wonder whether Hyundai is using something new too, or they kept the "French" approach?

The rear suspension layout is interesting, damper-vise looks like more or less the same as the current Polo. Initially I thought they'd go for something creative on the front as well given the layout...

Could be for the rear diff oil cooler as well as many other things.

To me, overall it isn't nearly as "smooth" as the Polo. Understeering (not much, but still) in the middle of the corner, the rear suspension seems to lack a bit of grip as well.
