Craig Breen: Broken diff at start of SS10, all over..
Unfortunately our great speed once again doesn't end in a great result..
It's hard to say anything really. Popoff is something they can't solve it seems. As far as yesterday's suspension problem goes, I read it was a sealing that went dead, which is a maintenance and/or material failure. Drivetrain: the gearbox is already in its 3rd Evolution, rear diff has been updated as well. So either everybody involved in this project is useless, they have no money, or the car was not prepared well - again. I'd say it's somewhere between the three. But still surprised Famin was not fired after the sloppy product they had such high hopes for.
As Br21 stated before the pop-off valve issue is largely related to the position in the engine bay which definitely is a design flaw. Others spent hell of a time to minimize the issue before homologation. The 208 had a lot of design flaws since the beginning, maybe because the original designer of the car Bertrand Vallat went to Hyundai before the car was finished, who knows.
