Hayden Paddon seems not excited ;)
"I think Barum will be a different story, it's the one I'm least looking forward to this year!"
I saw that comment too! I think that his way of saying that the conditions will be quite unique and more of a challenge which I guess it will be as usual. I dont think its a case of him getting his excuses in early however trust he exercising caution again.
As a comfortable championship leader any event that famously has tricky conditions would be unwelcome I'd expect. In the same way that I'd imagine if Kalle hasn't already wrapped it up by then he would prefer Central European Rally to be a dry event.
Paddon has done perfect job so far in judging his pace and finishing all the rallies on the podium. I expect just the same in Barum, allowing others to make mistakes or have car issues / punctures. His mechanical sympathy and understanding have also been a great asset, enabling his i20 to cope really well vs the Skodas etc.
I think a lots of drivers doesnt like Barum rally, cause they know its a kingdom of Kopecky and they dont have so much chances in there
Perhaps Cais or Mares will change it one day?
Well, this year Kopecky seems bit struggle with his new Fabia.Drivers may have chance to break the curse :-)
I think this year there is the biggest chance after a very long time to beat Kopecky...
Seems a fairly tough route.

If Chris Ingram drives here he could go well. He's done Barum a few times and last time (2019) he was 3rd and just 0.3s off 2nd placed Mares.
Ingram plans include ERC...

The maps are out. For Barum standards there is lot of changes. One completely new stage Kateřinice (circuit but a tough forest one - it's based on a then famous stage not used since 90'), some completely new sections in other stages (Pindula, Halenkovice), some long time unused roads. I really like the route!

"Barum is bumpy and can be wet, the two things I hate the most on tarmac" - says Hayden Paddon:

ERC comeback king Wagner all in for Zlín - words of Wagner: "The speed is still to improve but it’s not a lot because the whole package in the ERC is quite tight. We have to find just a little bit more, at least for Barum." - https://www.fiaerc.com/erc/news/erc/...-in-for-zl--n/
Mares wants more than coffee to reward ERC pace - https://www.fiaerc.com/erc/news/erc/...ward-erc-pace/
I see Ingram's opinion is very different from Paddon's :)
