Fantastic video, but it’s strange not to see any Portuguese flag on it. I haven’t heard any news about Açores becoming independent and an EU member…
Honesty, I love Açores and their rally (been there twice) and have some good Açorean friends, both on the islands and here in mainland. I know they also feel that Açores Rally organizers are getting a bit too cocky, showing a needless disrespect towards the Continent. Hope those realize that by doing so they’re also disrespecting mainland crews that enter the rally and all Portuguese fans that support their rally around the world. After all, we’re all Portugal!
This is not the place to discuss this kind of issues, Rally Power.

Portuguese press talks about the possibility to have Kalle Rovanpera. First it was a local newspaper, then yesterday autosport.pt also published an article with that possibility and also added Andreas Mikkelsen, who, they say, is on "advanced contacts"...
Every year similar rumors come from Acores and usually only very few come true.
Kalle is ready to drive everywhere if allowed.
For WRC events FIA decides who can start, I believe it´s same in ERC, so no national club can decide that.
Azores rally is also part of Portugal and Azores championships so national club can allow him drive in national field, like Kalle did in Latvia ERC round...
That doesn't need to be a problem. It's same here in CZ but Kruuda or Novikov both drove our events before they were 18 under some sort of exception.
Risto is going to be doing a lot of driving on the road sections in the next year I think.

What a big confusion I made. With another pilot who passed the Rally of the Azores in 2014 Attachment 1264
There are a lot of people winking at the young Rovanperä

It's a bit OT, but it'll certainly be remembered during this year rally: yesterday Horácio Franco, one of the greatest rally champions from Azores, passed away. He retired from the sport some years ago, but was still hugely respected by all Azorian and Portuguese rally fans. Condolences to the family and friends. RIP.
Entries close this Thursday.. any news on Lukyanuk or Kajto?
Press conference for public presentation of the event

According press conference: 10 Skoda, 9 Ford, 4 Citroën, 2 Peugeot and 1 Hyundai on R5 field.
One of their better fields in recent years in Azores I think. Quantity wise, let's see Quality wise
Sounds good. I guess a lot of those will be Portuguese crews though?
I am sure that quality will be also very good ;)
Wow that is a monumental entry. Did not see that coming at all. I think we got 33 at the Circuit last year. Looks like there were 16 RC2 cars at the first round of the Portuguese championship.
