Although lucky a very deserved win for Kris. Great drive all weekend. Certainly knows how to entertain!
Neuville is priceless https://twitter.com/RubnPerez/status/841028822099251200
Desborough just keeps rambling even when the anthems are played...
+1 happy with the win of Meeke but the last stage shows again it will be difficult to win any title for Citoren with this driver lineup. Matton was egoist when VW drivers were on the market and refused to discuss with Latvala and Mikkelsen - he will remember to this during the year
Summary:
Meeke - did very good. However he got a decent lead just from the road position alone which meant he could drive without pressure. When pressure was there (Power Stage) he almost binned it again. Also his performance is very much what he did last year on the gravel rallies where he had good start position. So not really convinced how there is any chance of WDC challenge. First time Citroen has shown pace comparable to the other cars over more stages.
Ogier - stable performace. Still doesn't look very comfy in the car. Specially on SS.
Neuville - Measured performance. Car trouble on chocolate put him behind and imo on saturday he just decided (for once) to play safe. Or he simply couldn't drive fast on saturday due to confidence issues ( seen that last year).
Tanak - okish, had nothing to fight for most of the weekend
Paddon -quite dissappointing imo, seemed slowest of the i20s whole weekend... on his best surface.
Sordo - very surprised by his performance. Sure he had nothing to loose, but beating the other two cars consistently is impressive.
Toyota - disaster, though probably not so surprising given their lack of experience in Mexico. Their post-Sweden talk about going for manufacturers champ. looks totally funny now.
Lefebvre - no pace and crash, gl in manu champ. Citroen.
