Nothing against Tanak.... but Evans very nearly won in Argentina while being way off pace anywhere except Finland.
That's the problem with different tires.
They can be a big disadvantage on most rallies, but they can also be a big advantage on others... and most often it's impossible to know if it's tires or driver.
For an older example lets recall the Subaru on Pirellis. On dry tarmac they were always clearly behind.. on wet tarmac they were winning stages by 0.5-1s/km.
They maintain it, but it`s owned by his sponsor Gross.
