Well, that discussion is ongoing in the ERC stepping stone topic on EC. Examples from both sides. Starting in WRC2 when enough talent shouldn´t be a problem though.

The best for young drivers is to be WDC as soon as possible. WRC2 is one out of two ways becoming it.
In Motorsport News today Malcolm Wilson said M-Sport may well run a works Fiesta R5 in WRC2 next year to showcase the new developments and take the fight to Skoda. He said to do this they are looking at putting a 'frontline driver' in the car, as he acknowledges that in Lappi, Tidemand and Kopecky that Skoda have the best drivers.
So commence speculation. It could be Elfyn I guess if he is being demoted? Kubica looks more likely to stay at WRC level judging by the rumours but who knows. Would Craig Breen be considered 'frontline'?
It could be Camilli ... AutoHebdo said Wilson is impressed by him, and very interesting by his profil (Rallye Jeune FFSA).
I can't see him going in WRC, but an official drive in WRC2, it could be better for his future than a drive offered by TMG with Oreca.
I thought I read somewhere that Camilli stays with Oreca which meanwhile switches to Fabia of 2C team (which is logical for Oreca).
