For sure they played a role.
For what it's worth, Campedelli and Scandola were generally slightly quicker than the leading ERC crews. Rovanpera was a bit further back, but I expect a different story in Latviia..
It would have been a better competition and easier to compare times if all crews had run together as they do on other ERC rounds.

Like watching it live, only one day late..
Nice to see Kajto pushing more on this rally, a champions drive one might say.
How are Leg points in ERC? 7 points for fastest driver, 6 points for 2nd?
So, Huttunen has now 106 points and from Latvia he can score maximum 39 points = 145 points in total.
Ingram has 115 points. If Huttunen leads all the way and wins in Latvia and Ingram stays second all the time, he get 18+6+6 points = 145 points in total.
Both would have 2 victories, but Huttunen would have 2x 2nd places whereas Ingram would have only one. And there is a slight chance Ingram could be the faster driver too...
And let's not forget that neither of Opel drivers is currently the championship leader. It's Mares. In theory Zawada has a chance for the title too.
And this is rallying, so anything can happen.
