We can dream, I suppose. Cars are still too expensive.....and probably still the biggest factor in keeping more Manufacturers away.
Yes, when we see what FIA landed on in the end, they will be as expensive as todays WRCars are in a few years.
Beginning to like the McRae idea of S2500 formula more and more, even if it is the opposite direction than the new small turbo engines that modern cars have.
S2500 RWD would be very entertaining !

Know what the bottom end has for crank to make it 2,0 liter.
The B234 head doesn't fit very well on the old b21 bottom, well maybe if you don't mind banging all the valves into the cylinder wall so I guess its still big bore 96mm so to make it 2,0 they have to do something..
By the way, I make nice pistons and rods for high output B21/B23/B234---about 450 grams lighter than original per piston and rod combo...
