Seems like 15 minutes time penalty for Ekstrom, I don't know why. New top 3:
1 Sainz (Audi)
2 Loeb (Prodrive) +10''

As this video clip proves, the co-driver used the paper road-book to get his bearings during the special. A prohibited practice since the road-book has been displayed on a digital tablet since 2022. The organization has the road-book in paper format in each cabin in case an emergency arises, but by opening the envelope sealed by ASO on morning of the stage, the crew gets a time penalty.
Also, Ekström-Bergkvist missed a waypoint. The penalty is 15 minutes. The first leaders of the Dakar 2023 fall to 14th place in the general classification, 15'33 "behind leaders Carlos Sainz-Lucas Cruz (Audi).
