I sincerely hope this comes off. It's a fabulous event in a beautiful part of the world.

I would love to see a muddy gravel ERC Rally GB as a substitute for a WRC round, but this proposed asphalt event would certainly do!
So now Poland is rumoured to be re-joining the WRC next year, Rali Ceredigion looks like it may join the ERC and the promoter has said before they want to add a round in France - any news on which round might come in? I'm hoping it's not the ERT-counting Rallye d'Antibes - Côte d'Azur as then both France and Portugal would basically have the same rally (but different times of year) for both the WRC and ERC 🙄
More positive news regarding the prospect of Rali Ceredigion joining the ERC, but I don’t like the sound of Rajd Polski being both an ERC and WRC round - surely the ERC will be overshadowed by the WRC???

Didnt really work in Cataluyna and even though the promoter is the same the ERC round will be lost in the Rally 1 centric ether.
But with Rzeszowki it would be 5 tarmac events. Idk if ERC would want that.
THere was an interview earlier this year (not sure if it was on DirtFish podcast?) where it was said that ERC was pushing for a round in France in '24. Maybe thats the place taking over Poland's spot.
Someone suggested on reddit that Latvia and Estonia would be exchanging positions... thats interesting to Keep Estonia around
Hayden Paddon says the ERC is the best value for money rally Championship in the world. Its half the cost of WRC2 and with similar live coverage, great events & stages, plus the Rally2 cars are the 'main show'.
He absolutely loved doing the ERC and hopes to come back again in 2024.
And dominate rallies !

It seems rally websites still haven't picked up on the fact that Paddon is not the first non-European ERC champion. Poor, forgotten Jean-Joseph...
In a way they are right. He was competing under the French flag.

Norbert Herczig is planning to return to ERC in 2024 after a short try at WRC2 this year.
According to a Gran Canaria website.
https://motoraldia7.com/noticia/el-4...4-de-mayo-2024
There is already a date for the 48th edition of the Rally Islas Canarias (Gran Canaria) next year, where it will continue in the European Rally Championship (ERC), a championship that will be finished in August.
The date will be the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of May 2024, almost the same dates as in 2023, being the second round of the ERC also the same as last year, but this time after the Hungarian Rally. In a calendar with eight rounds (Hungary, Canary Islands, Poland, Scandinavia, Estonia, Rome, Barum and Ceredigion), the last round is scheduled to take place in August.
On the other hand, the presence of the Rally Islas Canarias in the World Rally Championship (WRC) would be almost done, missing only tie some sponsorship contracts, especially with the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and the Government of the Canary Islands, vital for all this to become a reality in the very near future.
Can’t wait for next year’s Rali Ceredigion, it was a great event this year and would be even better with the ERC’s best at the head of the field
Neither Mikołajki, nor Rzeszowski. New rally. Also Hungary will not be "that" Rally Hungary
Have you got a source for this? I’m assuming WRC Poland will be Mikołajki, maybe later in the year?
ERC should be in Katowice/Chorzów in Silesia.
Rajd Śląska?
Yes
Gravel Veszprém Rally in Hungary
Great news for the Ceredigion team and great news for UK rallying if that comes true. Good 50/50 split across East Europe and the rest of the estate, just hope the title isnt tied up early in the season so that the Wales round gets a decent Euro entry.
Fantastic news if true and so well-deserved for all the organising team that have made this happen.
If it's the final ERC Round then that is a bit of a worry for entries, but it's still great to have the UK back on the international rally stage.
Fafe will be held in March and will be on ERC for sure.
Seems Frank Tore Larsen is aiming for a 3years plan in ERC in his Polo.
That can be a interesting move.

So..... Bye-Bye Polska and Latvia?
Are we getting Estonia and France for '24? UK? haha
I've heard that Poland would continue as tarmac event, but not the Rzeszów from a few years back.
It was written somewhere here that it shall be Rajd Ślaska around Katowice. That is more west close to the Polish-Czech-Slovak border triangle. There is an international airport in Katowice so it shall be fine for logistics.
Mads Ostberg says that 2023 was a very difficult season for him, he even thought of quitting rallying, but after the win in Hungary he wants to continue in ERC 2024:
https://dirtfish.com/rally/erc/ostbe...t-won-hungary/
1.round V.Rally Hungary 12-14 April Gravel
7.round Ceredigion 30.August-1.Sept Asphalt
8.round Rally Silesia 11-13 October Asphalt
Ceredigion not being the last round will be great if that comes off. Yes we are a difficult island to come to now post Brexit but hopefully we will see a good ERC turnout. They will love the roads!
I suppose its how you define "difficult". There is certainly more hassle and cost involved now than pre-Brexit and between EU states. This is a brief explanation of the Carnet system for temporary importation of competition cars:
