Following the R2 thread today.
If most parts of 208 R2 can make up a R2 DS3, then maybe the 208 can borrow most parts from the DS3 R3?

Any news on when Renault Expect to start testing their new Clio 4 R3T, or have they already started?
Since 2.0 is out, they need to build the 4 clio into rally car. Does Tom206wrc know status?
Have the following been modified?
R3C - 1600 to 2000 cm^3, 1080 kg (petrol, normally aspirated)
R3T - up to 1620 cm^3, 1080 kg (petrol, turbocharged)
R3D - up to 2000 cm^3, 1150 kg (turbodiesel)
The current Clio R3 is R3C, and the new one will be R3T, as is DS3 R3, right?
Has any cars been homologated in R3D yet?
Good question. You can guess for which manufacturer the rules were changed :)Quote:

- Citroen DS3 R3T,
?
In Germany they have had a Diesel cup for some years, so they have a few national homologated cars.Quote:

There was a rumor that Toyota was preparing GT-86 R3C, so was a rumor about Ford Fiesta R3T. Nothing officially confirmed though.Quote:

R3 cars don't have hydraulic gear-shifting. They use pneumatic or electric system. I don't know if that is forbidden for WRC cars too. Citroën is the only one in R3 who keeps using it. Honda/JAS abandoned that because of low reliability of their system.
Thanks for that, I thought they were hydraulic system as the old WRCars. Do you know if Kubica's system is hydraulic (slowed down) or is it similar to the R3T system?
I'm not sure but I think that it's hydraulic for Kubica.
Could M-Sport put the R5 engine into the R2 chassis, and class it as R3T?
What is needed to change on engine and chassis for them to make a R3T Fiesta?

If I understand correctly another year before we see the R3 in action. No word on the R5 :(
An RWD R3 should be entertaining to watch, I hope some other manufacturers will pick up the idea too :)
Unfortunately, the model is not really suitable for R5 - if Toyota ever wanted to build such a car, they would rather choose a sub-compact.
Technically yes. M-Sport has homologated both the Fiesta R2 (1.6 NA engine) and Fiesta R3T (1.6 turbo engine). By the specific regulations same engine parts can be homologated in both R3T and R5. Pistons, connecting rods, flywheel, crankshaft etc. Not having the homologating regulations there could be some differences in what it means to homologate for an example the pistons. Same weight and materials for both R3T and R5?Quote:

Thanks for the claryfication OldF, maybe MSport will speed up if JWRC will go R3??
If JWRC switched to R3, what would be the point of WRC3?Quote:

Not rally car, circuit races.
Andre the pictures I uploaded are not from the Cup version. They are from an official Clio 4 R3T rally test (I thought the gravel was enough evidence  )
For reference, this is the Cup version:

It's a bit strange that they're making a 5-door version of it!
There is no 3-door new Clio.
My coment was reply to Toyota pics :DQuote:

One thing from the article which took my attention - Renault sold 373 Clio R3!
Sebastien Chardonnet posted in fb that he test the new DS3 R3 Max. Do we know what are the differences with the current DS3 R3?
