Awful news :( I saw the race on tv but didn't hear news of his death until a listener to Radio 5 Live emailed in to the show late last night to ask that mention was made of the loss of a talented young driver.

Terrible news, although we can at least take some hope from how this is not such a regular occurance in motorsport as it was a few decades ago.

I remember when Henry Surtees was born. It doesn't seem that long ago. Such a sad loss.
Incidentally they have got wheel tethers on the Formula Two cars, but presumably the tether failed in this accident.
I'm actually a little angry at the lack of publicity and tribute that the press have given to Henry and his family.
Here was a rising star, just 18, killed in a prominent series in front of hundreds of thousands of people, and yet there was just an afterthought in a couple of news bulletins. Sad really.
