It says they took a penalty for smaller radiator,is this correct? I mean when i start reading the article i thought it would say that took penalty for bigger radiator because they face overheating problems.
It doesn't matter if it's smaller or bigger. There are dimensions with tolerances and if some is out of tolerance it's illegal. Simple as that. And in fact it was NOT smaller. Homologated dimensions are 450x326x36 mm. The frontal area is 146700 mm2. In case of Kruuda and Chardonnet it was 451x330x34 mm which is 148830 mm2, i.e. 1,4% larger frontal area. Anyway the tolerances are +/- 2 mm to A and B and +/- 1 mm to C dimension. In that case B and C were out of tolerance.
Frontal area is in my opinion more important than depth with the radiator. Anyway it's useless semantics since there are rules clearly given black on white and those were violated.
First evolution of radiators were made with OK dimensions, but they were cracking... second evolution which is stronger is not fully legal it looks
