We argue a lot about which tracks should host F1 and bringing back old ones etc. So lets have your ideal F1 calendar, you decide the tracks and number of races!
52 races a year would be my ideal calendar and there are more than enough tracks to race on each week.
1. Interlagos
2. Mexico City
3. Imola (the pre-'94 layout)
4. Monaco
5. Osterreichring
6. Hockenheim (pre-mutilation by that dickhead Tilke)
7. Nurburgring (that would be the Nordschleife)
8. Silverstone (not the new one, the old one)
9. Monza (from the early '90s)
10. Spa (also from the early '90s with the proper Bus Stop)
11. Zandvoort
12. Montreal
13. Watkins Glen
14. Kyalami
15. Suzuka
16. Adelaide
There seems to be these kind of threads every year, but hey I love them!
Here's mine, being as realistic as possible but with a few dreams added in:
1. Australian (Melbourne)
2. Malaysian (Sepang)
3. Pacific (Singapore)
4. Indian (Greater Noida)
5. North African (Ain Diab)
6. South African (modified Kyalami)
7. Turkish (Instanbul)
8. Monaco (Monte Carlo)
9. Spanish (Montjuich Park)
10. Portuguese (Portimao)
11. French (Modified Le Mans Bugatti)
12. British (Silverstone)
13. German (Nurburgring)
14. Italian (Monza)
15. Belgian (Spa)
16. Canadian (Montreal)
17. United States (Austin)
18. Mexican (Mexico City)
19. Chinese (Shanghai)
20. Japanese (Suzuka)
21. Argentine (Potrero de los Funes)
22. Brazilian (Interlagos)
Very similar to my thoughts on the subject. Particularly with 16 races, which seems the right amount to me. I think we have too many races at the moment, it diminishes the importance of a GP win. When you do these sorts of threads quite often you end up with a crazy number of races in the calendar.Quote:

8. Canada - Montreal
9. USA - Indianapolis
10. French - Paul Ricard
11. European - Various (Move it around)
12. Britain - Silverstone (Not the new, but the last one)
13. Germany- Hockenheim (Old Circuit complete with blast into the forests)
14. Hungary - Hungararing (pre 2003)
15. Italy - Monza ( Pre 2000)
16. Belgium - Spa (Mid 90's: Eau Rouge rougher tarmac/ Less tarmac run off /Proper Bus Stop)
17. Singapore (I know some don't like it but for me it adds a different aspect (Night & Long Race))
18. Japan - Suzuka (130R as it was)
19. Pacific - Adelaide
It'd have to start in Australia, there's something extra special about getting up in the middle of the night to watch the first race of the year! And probably end at Interlagos, which usually throws up a good race.
Other than that, copy the calendar from the mid-90s - it should be at the tracks that get the biggest crowds (the "old" circuits). None of the new generation of tracks does much for me.
