New rules introduced with immediate effect following incidents at Brands Hatch even that brought about the cancellation of racing.

Now, a rule change has been introduced by the MCRCB which bans the practice of picking up a crashed machine and continuing during practice or races.
The official wording is: "Riders who fall from their machine are not permitted to continue in the practice session or race until passed fit by a Medical Officer (note: at BSB events there are Medical Officers on each corner around the circuit) and the machine re-inspected and cleared by Technical Control. Any infringement of this rule will result in the rider being disqualified from the remainder of the practice session or race and may result in further penalties.
"In the event of a practice or race being interrupted by a red flag, any crashed machines will be recovered and taken to Technical Control and released to the Team for repair. Once the repaired machine has been re-inspected and cleared by a Technical Officer a rider may continue in the restarted practice or race. In the second part of an interrupted race this applies to riders classified in the results of the first part."

Tommy Hill getting his title defence back on track, the Stalker 5th!, disappointing qualifying from Byrne, Haga and Seeley in 15th to 17th positions and the Supersonic BMW boys in 10th and 20th and Ant West finishing Moto2 25th. Just sayin...

    Kneejerk reaction perhaps?

Ian Lowry took Superbike race one for his first BSB race win (well-deserved, a very underrated rider), and Josh Brookes rode a storming race to come through from 13th for the win in race two. Tommy Hill was second in both, and it is good to see Stuart Easton back where he belongs after his injuries at last year's NW200 although he just fell short of the podium.

Of the imports: Luca Scassa looks to be taking well to BSB (Lowry's team-mate), but Nori hasn't quite settled yet. Alessandro Polita has a new Ducati to develop, and Florian Marino is riding an Aprilia that still needs a bit of work (his team-mate John Laverty is struggling too).
"Of course, what many people tend to forget is that Glen Richards was 2nd in the 1993 Australian 125cc championship" - Jack Burnicle on BSB at Snetterton, June 2008

Stoked for Brookes, equally excited for Stuart Easton's results after last years injuries. And Glen Richards is clearly putting his 125cc skills to good use on that Triumph!
