The big news within the 125/250 ranks is the 'retirement' of Dani Amatriain. Both Delson Derbi and the team that was known as Lotus Aprilia will continue. Lotus Aprilia will now be known as Team 48 (they are hoping to resign Lotus Watches) and the team is now owned by the team members themselves. The retirement of Amatriain many link to his bust up with former protege Jorge Lorenzo, that's also the reason Jorge is on the lookout for a new racing number, (I hear he wanted #0 but Dorna said no so he has reserved #23 and #99).Jono Porter 12/05/81 - 09/06/04
MX's Celeb Crush - Sue Bird

Those are some pretty interesting lists so far Matt.
It's good to see the Pons WRB team expanding to 250s with Hector Barbera, they did a great job last year in 125s (I notice Nico Terol won 'privateer of the year' which meant Corsi must've had a factory bike within that same team, in which case Terol's results were even more remarkable to take 5th overall). Also looking good with Aspar running three 250s hopefully. Do you know if we're expecting Campetella's team back? They always brighten up the grid even if the results have gone south recently.
In terms of 125s, do you know much about satellite KTMs? It was a bit of a sloppy effort from them this time round - Tomi Koyama won't be remembering 2008 fondly after winning a race and finishing third in 2007, and Randy Krummenacher struggled with illness throughout after his emergency spleen trouble. Any news on Onde 2000 continuing a 125 effort?"Of course, what many people tend to forget is that Glen Richards was 2nd in the 1993 Australian 125cc championship" - Jack Burnicle on BSB at Snetterton, June 2008

Keifer will probebly run Honda next year. Not confirmed or any paper signed with Honda or the new sponsor yet. Will hopfully be in some day's time. It depends on if the team gets factory 2009 Honda and that Aoyama is ok for them to have as a rider (He did leave Honda once for going to KTM,,)
So my tip is: Red Bull Keifer Honda with Stefan Bradl and Hiro Aoyama as riders in 250GP.

I hope that Celani Suzuki come up with a machine as competitive as the Superstock 1000 unit Aitchison was aboard in 2007 so Muggers can get up with the front-runners......I hear Alstar will have some input into the development of the bike........Velly interesting year ahead in WSBK.

Brendan Roberts to BSB with NW200 Ducati to replace Rutter?
The latest news from the Macau Grand Prix indicates that British Superbike legend, Michael Rutter has ridden his last race for the North West 200 Ducati team.
Rutter is believed to have been offered a management role within the team with his racing outings restricted to the North West 200 and potentially the TT, however the move would bring an end to his 301 race old BSB career. European Superstock Champion Brendan Roberts is expected to replace Rutter as team leader for the 2009 British Superbike campaign.
Keen to extend his career in the worlds most prestigious domestic Superbike series, Rutter is thought to have turned down the offer to pursue other options in BSB including running his own team. This would be a move that is likely to see him also contest the North West 200 and potentially a return to the TT.

Quite amusingly, this thread is a couple of days ahead of crash.net for news now...I posted the Badovini at PSG-1 story up on the crash comments page, and it appeared as a separate story shortly afterwards. The Robbin Harms news was also on here first.

Stefan Bradl stays in 125GP next year. No money from Red Bull and the reason for that is the econmical situation in the world right now. Bradl will be the only rider in Keifer and right now they dont have any main sponsor for next year.

Brendan Roberts will be on a Guandalini Ducati in WSB in 2009 (where Jakub Smrz was this year; not known if he'll be retained too):
Good move I think, decent private team who prepare a good fast bike for his WSB debut.

Tis good news, deserves a shot..
Wonder what it means for Kuba Smrz...I opened up all the windows..the air is cold, the tub is boiling hot..It's like Sweden, man. Sweden!
