Hi Mike, I picked up Fistful of Mercy the other day. Being a Northeast Ohio guy, I really like the collaboration. Thanks for the tip on the documentary. I'll have to watch for it. Cheers! Bill
I keep forgetting to look at my messages on this new forum. Probably a senior moment!!! Photograph was great, if very poignant. Loved the McCartney/Starr moment during For You Blue - "that's the 12 bar blues". Credit to GH's family and friends for getting together to celebrate the way they did. It said a lot about them and George. Don't forget to keep an eye out for Martin Scorcese's documentary - http://www.georgeharrison.com/#/news...entary-feature
Okay, I've watched it 3 times now. It had to have been hard for Ringo to sing "Photograph." Like he said, the meaning has changed on that one.
You're welcome. I wrote myself a reminder to check out the streaming video tomorrow (middle-aged memory and all that). Thanks for the tip re: "Fistful of Mercy." In the meantime, I'll dig up "Cloud Nine" to tide me over (I just have it on vinyl & I think my turntable still works). Bill
Bill, I'm a big George Harrison admirer. A fascinating and talented man too often overlooked IMHO. Thanks for the link. If you haven't seen the concert do not miss it. A wonderful tribute. I'd recommend the Fistful of Mercy album as well Mike
I couldn't help but notice your avatar. Have you seen this? http://www.fender.com/blog/celebrate...reaming-event/ I'm really looking forward to it! Have you heard the song, "My Father's Son?" Definite proof that "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." I haven't heard anything else from the CD yet, though. Cheers! Bill
