ALMS racing season 2012

There was a good race in Long Beach and cool brodcast on Espn2 ,so I figured it would be good idea to have a post in regards to races through the 2012 season.

good idea fiat, I agree it was a good race and I think alms is starting to come back. I know some of the alms hardliners don't like the challenge classes but I like them and it has kept the best sports car series going during the economic downturn. Grand Am seems to be the ones having troubles filling the field now. Nice coverage by espn2, this should be a good year. Can't wait for Midohio.

ALMS is great. Love this series. Different high end cars and different sounds. Racing is amazing. Technology is superb. Start of the race and fans on the grid is something else. I love these cars and I can't wait for Road America. Hope that new viper will be there.

Not sure about the future of the Prototype class but certainly it has the best GT racing in the world.

I cant wait to watch tomorrow, though ESPN is still failing by not giving the live feed on TV, the day delay is a killer for ratings, only the true fans watch the stream, and ESPN give zero promoting for the event, which is sad, no commercials, no mentions on SportCenter, its a joke.

I'm planning on seeing the Baltimore race this year. They had trouble setting the event up last year, but hopefully they learned their lesson, and this event will run more smoothly. It really was pretty cool, though. Lots of places to watch from, lots of bars around the street course, and a really energetic atmosphere.
As far as the racing itself, ALMS is one of the most exciting series' to watch. There's plenty of variety in the field, and it's usually pretty close racing.
