Default Bridgestone Leaving F1, Does That Mean... - 2nd Nov 09, 21:32

Michelin will finally get some serious competition on the tire supplier front in Sportscar Racing?

I have been saying for a very long time that the only tire company that can stand up to Michelin was Bridgestone who last appeared at Le Mans with TTE.

So like BMW leaving to focus on "production related" motorsports, could Bridgestone be re-tooling its Automotive Motorsport division for a full assault on Le Mans and Toyota's long rumored return to La Sarthe?

All we need now is Toyota pulling back from F1 (coming in the next 10 days or so) and I think the stage is set.

DSC reports one of the bigger rumors is Toyota is going to run the LFA at Le Mans in the GT1 class in 2010.

Certainly wouldn't hurt my feelings!

I know. I know. But still, it's nice to dream.
