Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup 2010 Driver Applications

Volkswagen is now accepting applications for drivers for the 2010 SCCA Pro Racing Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup season at www.vwmotorsportusa.com.

For those of you who aren’t yet familiar with the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup, it’s the only clean diesel racing series in the U.S. During the season, young, up and coming drivers (between ages 16-26) compete on road courses across North America in identical, factory-prepared clean diesel Jetta TDI’s. Traditionally, the series has run in conjunction with Grand-Am and ALMS race weekends. In addition to more than $50,000 in prize money at stake during the season, the series champion will receive Volkswagen factory career advancement support with a value up to $100,000.

The season entry fee is $45,000, which covers everything for the season with the exception of travel expenses and crash damage charges.

Interested drivers should go to www.vwmotorsportusa.com to fill out an application. The final driver selection event will be held in early February 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada and is the last step in qualifying for the factory series. Ultimately, 25 drivers will be chosen to participate in the 2010 season.
