I want to be cynical but actually this opening ceremony is really good, reminding the rest of the world what Britain has contributed while bring great to watch. Excellent stuff so far.

Bloody great ormond street, why do they get all the attention?
(edit) now I can see where they fit in, very well done.

It would have been neat if the crowd had sung "Abide With Me". Still, it's been at every at every FA Cup and Olympics in England since 1927; that tradition continues

I will be impressed by athletic accomplishment, and have very little concern that I will be disappointed

Looking forward to the sporting events now as the opening ceremony was the worse I have witnessed. IMO it was a big salad of whatever they could think about being British. Rowan Atkinson and the Queen were the best in the whole ceremony.

Gilbert has done this sort of thing before, going out and making such a massive break that he can't be caught.
Team GB seem at times to be setting the pace of the peloton but if that's the case, I don't know who they'd plump for their medal hopes.Would you rather have butter or guns? Shall we import lard or steel?

Well that's it, team GB raced thinking that they can't lose it, yet they get not even one medal out of it, and they also hurt Wiggins chances for the TT.

My Colombian cyclist fell asleep at the end (and was exhausted!) but a Silver medal is reason to celebrate.
