I see the wall of my living. Since it needs serious reparations I shall retain from sharing.

He's good for something after all, isn't he?

Not much to share from the schmenke shack window. Our meagre backyard, a bicycle path, then the row of other homes out back

That's nice but this isn't the Geography thread, so some of us have no idea where that is.

(which brings up the old question of why people never put a place where they are from in their signature?) (or anything to indicate where they are from)

Near Pinmore in Ayrshire, Scotland. Its not quite the mountain as it looks to be, more of a hill.. the snow can be deceiving.

Well represent, man! Be proud o yer 'ome in the fells and dales , put it up under your name!

Most of us chose to be where we be, so why not be proud of it?

I'm from Sleezattle on the shores of Putrid Sound in beautiful Washlincoln State!

And when I look out that kitchen window I see the modest house and separate garage we will be building on the lot which you see grass and some trees. Because I see the future. (except when i see bureaucratic foutre)

I once spent a night in Motel 6 in Escondido. From what I saw, you probably didn't lose much.

All of Southern California would be a chaparral desert (with the exception of riparian woodlands where the streams run out of the mountains) if our water wasn't imported.
I guess it depends on what you value. Lake Hodges is one of the best "big fish" Largemouth Bass lakes in the world. I have caught 3 Bass over 10lb's myself there.
Lake Hodges is in Escondido, which is a place I would not be comfortable living in, it’s too far inland for me, and gets so damned hot in the summer.

OK. You proved me wrong. That was not what I saw. I just saw a town with narrow sidewalks, wide roads and pedestrian traffic lights that turned red before you had the time to cross the road. For example San Diego and La Jolla seemed much nicer than Escondido.

When you consider all of Southern California It isn't even remotely close to the Northwestern US in population density. A hell of a lot of country livin’ goin' on up in here
BTW the mountains and desert and even honest to goodness badlands
