Next event at Smeatharpe?

As theres no website for the location, i was wondering if anyone knew when the next rally event is at Smeatharpe?

I don't have a clue, wouldn't even know which motor clubs are likely to be running an event there

I know Bournemouth use it as there was a rally I missed on the 30th of june. Exeter uses it as well as theres rallying in October, but I was hoping theres something sooner

Ive just read on the Exeter m.c. sitethat the 2008 Smeatharpe stages have been cancelled. This is because...

"Due to a combination of circumstances (availably of a number of key senior event officers) the organising committee has agreed to cancel this year's event with a view to reschedule it earlier next year. As soon as a date has been confirmed this will be listed here.

Im gutted to read this as there is so little rallying in this area as it is

Lot's of stuff seems to be getting cancelled in Devon recently. The so called 'Mansell Raceway' (read Dunkeswell) has left a lot of people with a bad taste and at least 2 sprints were called off (one due to lack of entries but I believe that the venue still kept the fee that Torbay MC had paid

) and recently a sprint by North Devon MC at Chivenor was cancelled because of 'resurfacing'.

It really is annoying but I've resigned myself to not seeing any rallying until the Sunseeker, unless I make the mammoth trip to watch the RAC which is being discussed at the minute
